Official Rulebook — Summary

Game format: 8–12 players. Role-playing strategic game focused on deduction and communication.
Roles: Mafia, Detective, Doctor, Citizens.
Phases: Night (secret actions) and Day (discussion & voting).
Voting: Multi-vote (two votes) then final single vote between top two.
Win: Mafia win when mafia = citizens; Citizens win when all mafia eliminated.

Tournament progression

College Level: each participant plays three games at their college or hostel. Advance by winning 2 of 3 or by special-case survival. Qualifiers repeat the structure. Top 20 advance to finals at an Entrepreneurship Conference in Indore.

Mafia Inc. Championship — Indore Edition

Mafia Inc. Championship is a strategic role-playing tournament for colleges and hostels in Indore. The championship progresses through three stages: College Level, Qualifier Round, and Finals held at an Entrepreneurship Conference.

Gameplay Rules

  1. Game Format: 8–12 players.
  2. Roles: Mafia, Detective, Doctor, Citizens.
  3. Phases: Night and Day. Moderator controls phases.
  4. Night Phase: All players close eyes. Mafia open eyes and select one player to eliminate silently. Mafia close eyes. Detective opens eyes and inspects one player. Detective closes eyes. Doctor opens eyes and selects one player to protect. Moderator records actions silently.
  5. Day Phase: Moderator announces eliminated player if any. Players discuss for two minutes. Multi-voting: each player votes for two suspects. Top two vote-getters defend themselves for 30 seconds each. Final single vote between the two; highest votes eliminated.
  6. Winning Conditions: Mafia win if mafia count equals citizen count. Citizens win if all mafia are eliminated.

Tournament Progression & Advancement

At College Level each player plays three games. To qualify, a player must either (a) be in the winning party in two games, or (b) be the sole Mafia to win in a game, or (c) be one of two surviving citizens in a game. Qualified players proceed to city-level Qualifiers where the structure repeats. The Finals will host the top 20 players on stage.

Ethics & Conduct

  • Respect moderators and their decisions. Moderator rulings are final.
  • No disruptive behavior or harassment. Offending players will be disqualified.
  • No external communication (phones) during active games.
  • Winners may be required to sign a grant declaration for in-kind awards or vouchers.
